WHY DO I NEED TO BE SAVED?

Many questions are asked about the subject of Salvation and Christianity versus religion.

One person asked why does one need to be saved? Another person said they are a moral person, and they try to treat everybody right. However, another person asked why Jesus was born via Immaculate Conception and not like regular sexual intercourse through natural means?
When asking these questions, one might have many different opinions or ideas, but their answers will be based on what they think. The key phrase is what the Bible has to say. The Bible gives us the facts about why does one need to be saved?
  • Why do I need to be Saved? How we can receive Salvation.
  • Why being a moral person and try to treat everybody good?
  • Why was Jesus born via Immaculate Conception and not through regular sexual intercourse as a natural man?
The Bible is God's revelation to us, and He has given it to us to show us why we need Salvation, how to receive it, and how to live life as a Christian who has received Salvation.
WHY DO WE NEED SALVATION?

The number one reason that a person needs to be saved is that every person born of humanity is born into the kingdom of darkness under the rulership of satan. What Adam and Eve did when they disobeyed Almighty God, they came under the rulership of satan and the kingdom of darkness.

Yes, we all have heard that we are the children of God, but that is not a true statement. We are all the creation of Almighty God. If one is trying to be a moral person, it is not good enough to be saved; no matter how cute, handsome, or lovely one might be, they are born into the Kingdom of darkness and must be born again in order to be translated out of the Kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God. The only way to get out of the kingdom of darkness and enter the Kingdom of Heaven is by being born again. Your first birth was natural; the second birth, or being born again, is spiritual.  If you never get born again, you will never escape the kingdom of darkness. You will die and go to hell; being born again is the only way to be saved. (See John 3:3, 3:16, and Colossians 1:9-14).
All babies are born innocent until they reach the age of accountability, then they decide to become a child of Almighty God or go the way of the world as a child of the Kingdom of darkness. God is the creator of everyone on Earth. But he is not the Heavenly Father of everyone on Earth. This is because the right to become a child of God is only given to those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. This is what the scripture has to say about this issue John 1:12. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
The reason that Jesus' birth is called Immaculate Conception is in Jesus' birth, Almighty God bypasses the seed of humanity. He uses the Holy Spirit to cause Mary to give birth to Jesus through Immaculate Conception. I spoke with a doctor, and he explained that if a woman wants to get pregnant, she can go to a sperm bank and have artificial insemination, which is the injection of semen into the vagina or uterus through a syringe rather than by sexual intercourse. (See Luke 1:26-38).
We need Salvation because we have all sinned in God's eyes. We are told this in the book of Romans 3:23. It says, "... all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This means every one of us is a sinner.
The problem with sin is that it separates us from God. We were created to have a relationship with God. This is demonstrated in Genesis chapter 2, where God brings Adam the animals so that he could name them.
In Genesis 3:8-9, God came to visit the Garden of Eden, and as He did, God called out to Adam to "visit" with him. Sin, however, has broken that relationship. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 59:2,  that "...your iniquities (sins) have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear."
That leaves us with a problem because of our sin, we have been separated from God, and we cannot have a relationship with Him like we were created to have. While many people know they have sinned against God. Again, if they have been a good enough person and either did not sin really bad or have done enough good things, they will earn God's favor and go to Heaven when they die. The Bible tells us, however, in Isaiah 64:6 that to God, "all our righteous acts are like filthy rags..." They are not good enough for God.
All the good things we do to get back in "God's good graces" fail - we cannot do it. We cannot be good enough to gain God's favor or Salvation from our sin. We cannot make ourselves acceptable before Almighty God. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, {it is} the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."
This verse tells us rather plainly that Salvation does not come from the things we do; we cannot be good enough for it, and we cannot earn it in any way. This means we are powerless to save ourselves from God's wrath for our sin.
God has provided Salvation.
We are powerless to save ourselves, God, in His love, provided for our Salvation with what Jesus did on the cross for us. Romans 5:8, "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Why did He have to die for us? Because sin brings death - Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death..." When Jesus died on the cross, He took our punishment that God demands sin upon Himself. This included both physical and spiritual death, which is the separation from God we have already seen. 1 John 2:2." He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."
Since the price for sin is death, when Jesus died on the cross, His death paid the price for our sin. Jesus could do this because He was sinless. He did not have to pay for His own sin, so His death could substitute for our sin. Jesus died in our place so that God could forgive us of our sins.
Jesus died for our sins; God can now extend to us His grace for the forgiveness of our sins. Once again, let us look at Ephesians 2:8-9 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - not this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. God's "grace" is providing for us, or giving to us, what we do not deserve forgiveness of our sins. When we receive God's Salvation, it is because we have received His grace into our lives.
How To Receive Salvation
How, then, do we receive God's grace into our lives? The verse we just looked at says, "it is by grace you have been saved through faith." Our faith in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross is what applies God's grace to our lives. Praying, taking communion, and being baptized are nothing if you are not born-again. They are only religious practices if you do not have a relationship with Almighty God by being born-again. It is the beginning of a personal relationship with Almighty God through receiving His Son Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. The Bible tells us that these are all external practices or ceremonies. If we could receive God's grace through those things, why did Jesus then have to come and die for our sins? Rather, as we saw in our last verse, Almighty God's grace is applied to us by our faith - by our faith alone in Jesus' death on the cross for our sins.
The plan of Salvation is very simple:
  • Admit that you are a sinner in need of Almighty God's grace (Romans 3:23) and that you are helpless to save yourself (Isaiah 64:6).
  • Repent of your sin (Repent means turn away from your sin), confessing your sin to God - I John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
  • Depend alone on what Jesus did on the cross for the forgiveness of your sin (1 John 2:2).
When Almighty God raised Jesus from the dead three days later, it showed that God accepted what Jesus did for us on the cross. It shows that He accepted Jesus' payment for sin.
When we believe in and trust in what Jesus did for us on the cross - when we repent of our sin and depend on Jesus' sacrifice alone for the forgiveness of our sin, and believe that God raised Him from the dead, God applies His grace to our lives. We do not have to earn His grace! Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
This is why we cannot earn it, or be good enough for it, or even receive it through "religious" ceremonies. It is because God offers Salvation, the forgiveness of our sins, to us freely through what Jesus did on the cross for us.
It is about a relationship.
Salvation is more than "just getting to Heaven when we die," although that is what many people think it is about. Yes, when we are saved from our sin, we will go to Heaven when we die, but Heaven is a benefit of our Salvation, not the purpose for it. 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 tells us that the purpose of Salvation is to reconcile us to God. Verse 18 says, "Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ..." Because our sin separates us from God, our Salvation, the forgiveness of our sin, reconciles us to Him.
Salvation is not like a ticket we purchase to get us through "the Pearly Gates" at the end of our lives. Salvation is reconciliation to God, a mending of that relationship we were created to have with Him. When our sin is forgiven (at our Salvation, God forgives us of our past, present, and future sins - Hebrews 7:26-27 - so when we sin again, we do not need to be saved again), we then enter a relationship with God. And that is another reason why the Bible was written; it was written so that we would know how to live a life pleasing to God once we have entered into this relationship with Him. So, Salvation is being reconciled to God, which allows us to go to Heaven when we die. If you would like to receive Christ as your Savior, simply pray, and place your faith for the forgiveness of your sins in what Jesus did on the cross for you.
There are three simple steps that we have seen in the Bible:
  • Salvation is Confess to God that you are a sinner who needs forgiveness (1 Jn 1:9) and ask Him to forgive you of your sin.
  • Salvation is Depending on what Jesus did for you on the cross for that forgiveness (1 Jn 2:2) and nothing else - not being good, not a religious ceremony, like baptism or communion, but on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross alone.
  • Salvation is Confess that you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 10:9) to show that He accepted Jesus' sacrifice for your sin.
Prayer of Salvation
God loves you no matter who you are or your past. God loves you so much that He gave His one and only begotten Son for you. The Bible tells us that:
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Romans 10:9-10, 13 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth, Confession is made unto Salvation.
John 14:6" Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Pray this prayer now: Salvation.
Jesus laid down His life and rose again so we could spend eternity with Him in Heaven and experience His absolute best on Earth. If you would like to receive Jesus into your life, say the following prayer out loud and mean it from your heart:
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You admitting that I am a sinner: Right now, I choose to turn away from sin, and I ask You to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I repent of my sins and I believe that Your Son, Jesus, died on the cross to take away my sins. I also believe that He rose again from the dead so that I might be forgiven of my sins and made righteous through faith in Him. I call upon the Name of Jesus Christ to be the Savior and Lord of my life. Jesus, I choose to follow You and ask that You fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit. I declare that right now, I am a child of God. I am saved in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
