Military Might

Military Might!  We all know that the United States is in the middle of an ongoing global war on terrorism.  America’s military members are in harm’s way daily in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and other places.  By the way, please donot stop praying for them.  In spite of the recent losses of lives, it is globally accepted that the United States has the strongest, best equipped, and best trained military in the world.  One of the benefits of becoming a U.S. citizen is receiving the protection of the military.

When the U.S. sends out ambassadors to foreign nations, we do so with a certain level of military protection. There are U.S. Marines assigned to protect the Embassy, the Ambassador’s house, and possibly even the Ambassador’s movements.

If someone from that foreign country attacks the Ambassador, they know that it will be an international incident.  The military force already deployed will react and those Marines also have the full power of the entire U.S. military behind them and are ready to move upon orders.

Psalms 91:9-11 “Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways”

We are born-again into Christ, but we have to live in the world.  We live in the world, but we are not of this world (John 15:19).  We are ambassadors in a foreign land. (2 Corinthians 5:20)

We go to church (home) for training and equipping, but we then leave and go back to live out our training in our foreign land.  If we are attacked in this foreign land (the world), it becomes an international incident.  But like U.S. ambassadors, we are not without protection.

Summary:

1. We must recognize that the LORD Most High is our fortress and we find protection in Him and Him alone.

2. He commands His angels to protect us wherever we go.

3. This right to protection is given to all ambassadors (citizens) of Christ.

4. This protection is not earned by virtue of our works, but rather necessary by virtue of our position.

5. The greatest army anywhere is armed and ready to protect us and to ward off any attacks from the enemy.

6. As a citizen of heaven and an Ambassador of Christ, operating in a foreign land, this protection is one of our benefits.

Are you ready to face this day?  Are you prepared for everything you will have to endure?  I pray that you are better equipped for this day and more at rest now, knowing that you have a heavenly host of angels - armed and battle-ready - to protect you wherever you go.

CONFESSION

Heavenly Father, I am a born-again believer.  I have declared my citizenship in Your Kingdom.  I have a right to your protection. You are my fortress and you alone keep me from all hurt, harm or danger. I am Your Ambassador and I live in a foreign land. I stake claim to my right for protection and protection over my household this day and every day.  In Jesus’ name Amen!
